Shawn Mathew

IMT Business School Dubai

Dr. Shawn Mathew is a faculty in the Marketing department at IMT Business School Dubai and Chairperson of the PGDM – Dual Country Program (DCP). Shawn is a graduate of the Fellow Program in Management (FPM-Marketing) from IIM Ahmedabad and holds a BTech degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Prior to joining IMT Dubai, Shawn was a faculty with IMT Ghaziabad and IIM Jammu. Shawn has also worked as a Visiting Faculty at IIM Kozhikode, IIM Amritsar, IIM Ranchi, IIM Shillong and Curtin University Dubai. His pre-doctorate industry tenure includes stints with Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) and A.P. Moller – Maersk Group.

Shawn is a Fellow of the Max Planck Summer Institute on Bounded Rationality (2017) and TAPMI-Max Planck Winter School on Bounded Rationality (2017). Shawn was also selected as a Fellow of the American Marketing Association (AMA) – Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium in 2011. He is a semi-finalist of the Pareto Fellowship (Centre for Effective Altruism, Oxford University, 2016), an AIM -AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Fellow (2014) and winner of the Liam Glynn Travel Scholarship (2011).

Shawn’s research interests are interdisciplinary in nature and focus on simplifying consumer decision-making. His teaching interests include Consumer Behavior, Brand Management, Digital Marketing and Behavioral Economics. Shawn’s research papers have been published in Journal of Promotion Management, Economic and Political Weekly and Bulletin of the Association of French Geographers.
