Murali K. Mantrala (PhD, the Kellogg School, Northwestern University) is the Ned Fleming Professor at the University of Kansas School of Business. He is former Marketing Department Chair (2013-2018) & Professor Emeritus at the University of Missouri where he was Sam M. Walton Distinguished Professor, His research papers have been published in top marketing journals, and several have received awards, including the 1998 Frank M. Bass Best Dissertation Paper Award of Marketing Science; the 2013 Best Paper Award of Journal of Interactive Marketing; and were finalists for the 2013 and 2017 Davidson Award of Journal of Retailing, the 1997 & 1998 William O’Dell Award and the 2018 Paul E. Green Award of Journal of Marketing Research, and 2018 AMA TechSIG Lazaridis Prize. Murali is a former co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Retailing and serves on Advisory/Editorial Boards of JM, JR, JMR, JAMS, JBR, & JPSSM. Murali greatly enjoys working with doctoral students on improving understanding of and/or solving relevant and important problems in Marketing, Sales, and Retailing Management. He co-chaired the 2008 AMA-Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium and co-hosted the Inaugural Marketing Strategy Consortium in 2018. Murali’s work over his career has received the Humboldt Research Award in 2010, the AMA- Sales SIG Don McBane Award in 2020, and the AMA-RAPSIG Lifetime Achievement Award in 2021.
